A new book

Failed photos do not exist! If you don't believe this statement of the Dutch photographer Fieret, you should read this book, written by photo expert Erwin Puts. Photographic conventions, technical or aesthetic, are like recipes in a cookbook: they are just rules for ingredients and you can deviate from them if you like.
The prevailing standards determine whether a photograph has failed. The ambitious amateur doesn't want that: control is necessary and chance is bad.
The digitization of technology has produced an entirely different picture of photography: control is everything, no more chance. Often digital manipulations are applied that improve a failed photograph. The problem has not gone away: the enemy of photography is the convention, whether in the head or in the software!
Making interesting pictures is only possible if you take a new look at reality.
Conventional image production is in need of a fundamental change. Which one this is, you can read in this thought-provoking book.
